MEASURE FOR MEASURE
Power, sex, consent, double standards in leadership -all the themes are as current now as ever in The Old Globe and University of San Diego Shiley's Graduate Theatre Program's production of MEASURE FOR MEASURE by William Shakespeare. Directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg, the cast talks about their experience working on the play, which is playing through November 20th.

MÍA: ALL MINE makes its US premiere with a powerful and thoughtful play for theatre audiences of all ages. Presented by Bocón, a theatre company that has dedicated itself to creating art for audiences of all ages, director Daniel Jáquez talks about working on this show and directing it for English and Spanish performances through November 20th.

Playwright and composer Tyler Tafolla brings his new musical comedy SCOTT ROBBINS AND THE TRAVELING SHOW as a guest production at Diversionary Theatre Friday, November 11th, and Saturday, November 12th only. Tafolla talks about creating the piece, his inspiration , and the hope that this new musical promises to bring a sense of wonder and inspire performers and audience members alike to believe in the magic of theatre.

“boy: a new musical” made it's stage debut in a concert fundraiser at SDMT stage on Monday, May 16th. “boy: a new musical” is still in the development stage, and the concert was a fundraiser to help them continue to work on the show and present it to industry professionals in New York.
Bernadette Sefic talks about HENRY IV at The Old Globe
Bernadette Sefic makes their program performance debut in HENRY IV as Falstaff with a new approach to an established character. Safic talks about the approach to the show, their character, and why Shakespeare is eternally adaptable and relevant. The Old Globe and USD Shiley Graduate Theatre Program production of HENRY IV is playing November 12th - 19th.
Andrew Polec on winning the 23rd Annual Lotte Lenya Competition
October 3rd. He also is this year's winner of The Kurt Weill Foundation for Music's 23rd Annual Lotte Lenya Competition. Polec talks about the competition, how he composed his pieces, and what he loves about performing HAIR.

THINKING SHAKESPEARE LOVE!
In the true spirit of “The show must go on”, when the pandemic shut down theatre and in-person gatherings, the students of The Old Globe and University of San Diego Shiley Graduate Theatre program continued to do the work. That work has paid off for the graduating class of 2021 and is being celebrated in their live performance of THINKING SHAKESPEARE LOVE! A celebration of love through Shakespeare’s plays, poems, and songs July 15th and 16th at The Old Globe.
