PSYCH marathon is here with laughs

There are few things I love more right now than a diversion -  and funny diversion with a talented cast is even more awesome! So I am recommending one of my favorite shows that is making a special quarantine reappearance right now. The "Psych" marathon is the perfect way to have a light and fun distraction-with James Roday and Dulé Hill as a pair of best friends, one of whom is a fake psychic detective.

James Roday and Dulé Hill in PSYCH

It ran for 8 seasons and the 'Psych" marathon can be found on its home channel the USA network. It started last week (sorry, I was busy watching) and they are airing 2 seasons back to back every Wednesday at 10pm.  That’s 120 episodes! Even better, it airs on a certain day so it can help you remember what day of the week it is (entertaining and helpful!)

In addition to Roday and Hill this series stars Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson, Corbin Bernsen and Tim Omundson and during commercial breaks everyone shares their favorite “Psych” memories- it’s a feel good indulgence that has no additional calories.

I have even had the chance to interview the cast a few times and they are seriously delightful and all have a serious love for theatre.

Dulé Hill, who plays the ever patient best friend Burton Guster, has many theatrical credits from Broadway and beyond.

“I love being on stage. Any time I have a chance to be on stage I jump on it. “

Maggie Lawson, who is Detective Juliet O’Hara also shares a love for the stage.

“I would do a play every hiatus if I could…honestly I think anything that you can do onstage to explore that is…challenging and emotional are the best roles. I would play anything on the stage.”

James Roday, who plays Shawn the character that puts the “psych” in the fake psychic detective of the show loves theatre so much he even started his own theatre company Red Dog Squadron in Los Angeles.

In recap, funny shenanigans on the USA network airing back to back seasons of “Psych” starting every Wednesday in April.  They have musical episodes, tap dancing, a serious love of pineapple, and a cast that loves theatre. Honestly, what's not to love?
