Streaming theatre is well and good, but what about when you can’t sit down and watch something for hours at a time? Luckily, I have a list of a theatre podcast, or six, for you to choose from for your listening pleasure!

L.A. Theatre Works Audio Theatre
L.A. Theatre Works is the world’s leading producer in audio theatre, and they provide free access to plays performed by leading actors of stage and screen in plays that range from classic to contemporary. Productions are aired weekly on radio stations, but audience can also listen every Friday when they can stream the shows for free online.

This monthly podcast hosted by Rory O’Malley features discussions with performers, playwrights, producers, and more. Some guests you could hear include William Jackson Harper, Jenn Colella, Trey Parker, Maura Tierney, Cynthia Erivo, and with podcasts from 2017 there are so many to choose from!

Curtain Call Theatre Podcast
Backstage in the West End? Who doesn’t want to hear all about that? The show not only spotlights current shows through interviews but has also recently expanded into longer-form storytelling. They have an eight-part series delving into the making of the Tony-winning “Come From Away,” featuring insights from the casts on both sides of the Atlantic, and from the real people depicted in the musical’s life-affirming true story.
If you still can’t get enough HAMILTON then this is the podcast for you -it leaves no stone unturned as it covers this history making show. It talks about the musical, the impact it has made on theatre culture and beyond, and features guests, including the show’s founding father himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
David Tennant Does a Podcast
David Tennant is not only famous for being the 10th Doctor in “Doctor Who”, or as a fiendishly charming Demon in “Good Omens””, but he is also a very accomplished theatre performer having performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company, in many West End shows, and beyond. His podcast allows him to discuss theatre, performing, and other entertainment friends and colleagues.
